1985 Carrera coupe, backdated to longhood

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

This was posted on Pelican Parts at 12-31-2011 04:51 PM

Selling my Carrera. This is the car I backdated last Spring, if you followed the Ultimate Backdate thread. I took it on the Targa California until I nudged the back bumper of a pickup truck. The car has been back together for a while and I’ve been working to get the paint up to an acceptable standard. There are lots of little detail issues, but the paint looks great from 5-10 feet. The backdate was done with steel fenders and fiberglass front lid and f & r bumpers. I did not reinstall the windshield washer system, but the gauges all work, the seats work, the stereo works, the sunroof works, etc, etc. The car has the Euromeister replica Fuchs, 7 & 9 X 16 with excellent Sumitomo 225/50 front and 245/45 rear. The front is an aggressive fit and the fender lips have been rolled to accommodate the tires.

The car has 235K miles. I have no prior history on the car as it came via a dealer from an estate. It was delivered originally in Texas.

Since getting it, I have replaced the halfshafts and two wheel bearings as well as upgraded the rear torsion bars to 26mm with Neatrix bushings and added Bilstein gas sport shocks in the rear. The car starts and runs beautifully. It has a Weltmeister (Dinan) chip and will come with a stock chip. The transmission is quiet and shows no evidence of syncro wear, but every 20 shifts or so, it can be balky going into 1st or 4th. This is likely transmission wear, but is not difficult to live with. The driver’s seat upper outside bolster is worn through, as well. This car is a great weekend or daily driver. Open to PPI at your choice of LA area shop.

I will create an online album, but here are initial images.

I find I enjoy projects more than most folks and I’m ready for another, so I’m putting this up for sale at $14,500.

Porsche 993 c4 6 speed great driver silver/black 993 under 22k!

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

This was posted on Pelican Parts at 12-31-2011 02:36 PM

This one owner car was sold new on October 5, 1996 to its only owner. It is finished in Polar Silver with black leather and is accompanied by its original manuals, tools and often-missing air compressor. It also has the original Porsche stereo with a CD player. In addition, this 993 has twin full power seats…. A highly desirable option that most do not have. It was subject to a $4,819.90 engine sealing and major servicing in 2011 and has just had four new Continental ?Conti-Sport Contact 3? high-speed tires installed and rear shocks, and a Master Brake Cylinder. Overall this is a nice example of a 993C4. However, it does need some cosmetic attention. This car drives smooth, shifts beautifully, is rattle free. Its perfectly stable on the highway. Having just completed a 1300 mile drive in two days, its proven to be reliable and a great cruiser. We have documentation of extensive work that was completed in the past year. We are happy to email copies if it upon request from serious buyers.

It has nice leather, door panels, headliner and dash. There is some deterioration of the instrument binnacle and a tear in the rear shelf. It also has some lifting of the clear coat on one fender. This car is perfect for someone who wants the final generation of the air-cooled 911 and the handling of a C4 but is on a budget. We encourage prospective buyers to contact us for further details. This car has 132,000 miles and is priced at $21,900.

If you have any questions on this Porsche 911 Carrera 4, please contact Ken Baker at 561-866-1601 or email at pedigreemotorcars@gmail.com

We do have over 60 pictures of the car. Please email us and we will be happy to send a link to you.

All purchases through Pedigree Motorcars are subject to a $199 dealer administrative fee.

BMW e36 Convertible Hardtop Black. With stand and cover. Short Hills, NJ 07078.

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 12-31-2011 06:49 PM

If you’re looking for an e36 convertible and a want a hardtop with it…….

E36 Hardtop for 1992 – 1999 3 series BMW 318, 323, 325, 328, M3.

Everything works. Dome lights, rear defogger, latches. Headliner in excellent condition.

OEM BMW stand and OEM BMW cover included.

I bought top here on ebay in late July. I am the second owner. Originally optioned with a 1998 328i convertible. The previous owner kept the car but rarely drove it and so he decided to sell the top. I offered it back to him before posting but he has no plans to drive the car other than with top down on nice days.

The top has served me well but I just bought the matching red hardtop to my car. I received a lot of compliments on the two-tone look. The black top will look good on just about any color car. The soft tops on most of these cars are black anyway. Would have kept this if red one didn’t pop up but i got it.

I should also mention these hardtop SIGNIFICANTLY improve convertible handling. My car is so much stiffer and handles better with hardtop on. Not just a cold weather accessory. You’ll feel like you bought a new car. Top always garaged and covered when not in use. Previous owner garages his car and garaged this top as well.

Forum price of $1000 firm. Have it listed on eBay no reserve starting at $1000.

1988 Porsche 911 Carrera For Sale

1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Guards Red (Indiscrot) For Sale in Orange Park (Jacksonville), Florida

$25,000

dessodp@gmail.com

This was always my dream car and I have owned it for the last 6-7 years and about 20k miles. She currently has 107k miles and that should not change. Since then she has been my baby and I have put in way more money than I every can expect to get out of it. I know I am going to regret this but its time to let her go as my hobbies have taken me to another place. This car needs and loves to be driven. Title is in hand.

Before I go any further I want to tell you that I do not HAVE to get rid of it. I am not cash strapped in any way so no crazy offers, as they will not be considered. Also know that this is a 24 year old car so while its pretty damn awesome, It still needs some things attended to and will always need loving attention ….so onwards

I have no records with this car and have done almost everything myself with the help of Pelican Parts BBS and my mechanic. Hopefully when you see everything that has been done then you will know that she has been attended to.

Work performed at Technical Dimensions in Jacksonville Florida.

Full Top end Valve Job and much more at a cost of almost $8k – all nuts and bolts have been replaced and all sheet metal and the fan is powder coated red or silver. She is beautiful! Detailed receipt is available – too much to detail. Also replaced the fuel lines at the time. Clutch looked too good to replace. Follow up valve adjust performed after 1000 miles of below 4k RPM’s

Complete Front End R&R replacing Struts, Lower Ball Joints, Bilstein Sport Shocks, New Ball Joints and sway bar bushings. $1700.
Replaced Rear Drop Links

Work performed by me in the past 15k miles
Complete interior R&R consisting of replacing the carpet (domestic), replacing the Front leather seats, new Carrera Lloyds floor mats, replaced the stereo and speakers, replacing the steering wheel with a 930 aftermarket wheel and spacer (Pelican parts). Replaced door panels with Appbiz RS door panels and covered them myself. I spent $6k on the interior!!!

Replaced the exhaust with an M&K 1 in and 1 out SS exhaust and also the M&K Pre-muffler. The sound is absolutely magical and should be heard.

Full R&R of the brake system including replacing the rotors, SS Brake lines front and rear, pads and ALL 4 calipers rebuild. Stops like it should!

Replaced and installed turbo tie robs and a bump steer kit.

4 Cup II aftermarket 16” wheels and powder coated black. Falcon Azenis tires are nice with about 5k miles on them. 2 years old. They are 7.5 on the front and 9 on the rear. No rub what so ever.

Removed and filled the huge rear number guards (have them) and can be put back with no effort. Repainted the bumper and replaced the rear bumperettes and bumper strips.
License plate lights are LED and very cool

Replaces the front valance, rubber spoiler and the fog lights. They are nice without that sandblasted look.

Repainted the rockers and also used Wurth rubberized under coating so it looks factory. Front valance as well.

Replaced various seals including the heat lights, trunk seal, sunroof and the small ones at the bumpers.

Replaced rear taillights with Bosch euro lens – in great shape. Also replaces all front lenses and every exterior light bulb including the headlamps and fog lights.

Added Carrera side decals – can easily be removed with little to no effort.

Tinted sides and rear windows

Halon fire extinguisher mounted in the rear on the panel door top. I bought one recovered it and still have the original one so you can remove if you don’t like.

Most of the car was repainted at one time before me and presents very well but was not perfect so it’s an older repaint. I would say it’s a 5 footer at worst!!

What still needs to be done.
Replace the door seals and felt
Replace the doorsills
Install aftermarket door stays

Dashboard has the dreaded crack

AC has a leak and is inoperative – I charged it once and it worked for a short time but everything is still there but you and I both know the 911 AC sucks so I ignored it!

Sunroof recently stopped working. It’s electrical and not mechanical. I replaced all of the sunroof guides and stuff a couple years ago. I haven’t had time to diagnose.
Replace driver side foot well heater blower. It blows in just fine without it and its so damn hot I usually just use the right side heat.

Strip the entire car down to bare metal and repaint!!! LOL it looks great and if I did that I might not want to drive her. She is a driver – that’s how she is meant to be!!!

As you can see I have spent more in this car than I paid for it and have no aspirations on recouping that. My payment has been in pure joy and the experience of working on this fine car.

Now what we are all waiting for, the pictures……………

After the rebuild I had noticed some vibration & a small knock. The car was returned to Dave Whites shop which was now owned By Vortex Motorsports. All receipts & shift charts are included

This car stops better than it goes!!!
Racers group Big Red Calipers & cross drilled rotors up front
930 calipers & cross drilled rotors in the back

Bright brushed aluminum door handles
Dino shift knob

The reason for selling my prized Porsche is that my business is expanding & I need the capital so it?s time to thin the herd. Come & see the car, send your mechanic for a PPI, whatever you wish. This car is fantastic & I would like it to go to a good home.
