Garage Sale for the Late Ken Buchel

Ken’s wife is looking to move and needs to get rid of the vast collection of racing equipment Ken acquired over the past 10 years.

2 beautifully prepared 2nd generation CRX race cars.
1 ITA $5000 as it came off the track from a WGI lap record.
1 ITC?? or EMRA ST6 $2500 may need engine work. It is running, but we are not sure where he was in repairing a misfire.

Used Hooiser 20x8x13 Rains and Slicks 35′s and 45′s $25 each first come first served to the best looking tires. We have about 14, looks like some were only used for a couple sessions.

Used ATL Fuel Cell measures 12x20x9 make an offer.

Loads of D15 and D16 engines, parts, etc., several complete CRX cars for parts or repair.

If you have any interest in any of these items let me know.

Mazda Protege for Sale

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

This was posted on Improved Touring at 01-24-2012 09:58 PM

I need and want to sell my car! The price is negotiable. I really like this car, but want to change series.

Built from stock into SCCA Showroom Stock C car for the 2006 season. Won New England Region’s class championship in 2006 and moved over to NASA as the Northeast region developed. Results have always been there up to and including 2nd place at the 2011 NASA National Championships. A great starter racing car. Aside from lightening to 2435 lbs the car has the MazdaSpeed racing suspension developed for SCCA competition, an Autopower (bolt-in) cage, Braille lightweight battery, a custom intake manifold, AEM cold air intake, and ceramic coated AWR exhaust header. The car comes with a set of oem wheels and tires, a set of Kosei K1 wheels with the set of 205/15-50 shaved Toyo Proxy RA1 tires used for the three days of the 2011 NASA National Championship and a used set set of unshaved 205/15-50 Toyo Proxy RA1 tires suitable for rain, practice or DE days.

The body and chassis are straight. The 1.8L engine was rebuilt in 2010 and the bolt-on modifications were made for 2011. HP is 115 and torque is 115 when measured on a Dynojet at Summit Pt during Hyperfest 2011.

With some modification the car is suitable to run IT with SCCA, but is also Championship quality for NASA PTF. Transmission repair is needed – 4th gear went away during the NASA Championship race. The price is very negotiable. The car needs to be sold to make room for a new car.

Seller Phone Number: (914) 953-9648

Build:
MazdaSpeed Trunk Kit buikt by AWR Racing to SCCA specifications including custom Bilstein shocks & coils.
Autopower Bolt-In Cage.
Stage 4 Racing Clutch
2.5 Halon 1211 Fire Extiguisher – Hard Mounted
Racetech 4009 FIA Race Seat w/Aluminum Brackets
New IO Port Window Net
Viper Driver (interior) Net
New M&R Harnesses (2nd Set for 2nd seat when used)
AEM Cold Air Intake
Speed Circuit Cast Single Runner Intake
SuperTrapp Muffler

For Sale: ITS RX-7

Friday, January 13th, 2012

This was posted on Improved Touring at 01-13-2012 04:25 PM

RaceCarAd-2011-Small.jpg
The following is how the car was advertised when I purchased it in 2004 from a racer in Memphis, Tennessee.
86/89 Mazda RX-7 ITS
Originally built by Rotary Performance (Bret DePedro)
Mitch Piper 8 point cage w/ nascar door bars and petty bar.
Momo steering wheel.
3 nozzle fire system
Tilton Lever brake bias system
Braided brake lines.
Hawk blue pads.
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
Camber Plates
Single Adj Koni yellow shocks ht. adjustable.
450lb. springs front, 250 lb. springs rear
Mazdaspeed adj front sway bar
22 gallon fuel cell
Tach/Oil Temp/Water Temp/Oil Pressure guages
2 sets dry rims.
1 set stock rims for rains.

Since purchased I have added/changed
the following:
Cool suit wiring.
Antenna and wiring for radio.
Quick disconnect for steering wheel.
ISC splitter.
Rebuilt engine.
Rebuilt transmission (ISC prepped).
Changed diff to 5.12 (ISC prepped)
Re-plumbed the fuel cell and fuel pump with a submersible pump with black box.
Re-wired the switch panel.
Added de-fog strip to windshield.
Replaced the water and oil radiators and added heat exchanger (ISC prepped)
Replaced exhaust system with full ISC setup.
Safety harness belts are new.
Brake pads have one weekend on them.
Has current annual inspection.
Can meet minimum weight with 170# driver, we carry lead and/or extra fuel to meet weight.

This car is very competitive. It has been raced in the SE Division as ITS #42, Kyle Vensel, driver. We’ve won a bunch of SARRC and Regional races and placed 5th overall in the 2007 SARRC. That was the only year we really went after it. I have setup sheets for tracks we have raced at. For lap times, finishes, search MyLaps for Kyle Vensel. The car was last raced in the 2011 Homestead Double SARRC last September.

It’s had a couple front fenders and the front fascia replaced due to minor contact, but nothing else has been damaged. No major shunts. Other than the fenders is has the same paint on it as when we bought it.

The car is for sale as the driver has moved to Texas.

Contact: Wayne Vensel via PM. The car is located in the South Miami, Florida area. There is a race at Homestead this weekend and I can bring the car to the track if you are interested in seeing it or have someone look at it for you.
Asking $10,500.
