Factory Five Challenge Car #60 for sale

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

This was posted on NASA Racing at 02-15-2012 04:10 PM

Ed Boothman is Selling Factory Five Challenge Car #60 for $19,000.

No. 60 has been used strictly as a race car. It participated in events throughout the Midwest and East going from Homstead in Florida to Road America in Wisconsin. For a time I teamed up with Kevin Eves and he drove it to a podium (3rd pl) finish at the 2007 Nationals.

No. 60 is in good shape with no major issues.

Details

1. Stock 5.0L Motor – Fuel Injection with MAF, Not bored out
2. Tremec T5Z Transmission with Mid-Shift
3. Power Steering
4. Racepak G2X GPS
5. FFR (RJM) Race Harness – A9L ECM
6. March Brackets
7. Undersize Pulleys
8. Aluminum Radiator, Fan Included – Not Installed
9. New Style Fuel Cell with Side Fill
10. Dual Brake Master Cylinders (CNC) with Bias Adjuster
11. ’95 Mustang Rear Disc Brakes, Stock Front Disc Brakes
12. MB 17×9 Wheels, 5 Lug
13. Firecharger Fire Suppression System
14. Spare Kirkey Seat and Race Windshield for Passenger Side

It is currently set up under the 2011 rules. If used for racing in the series, the fuel bladder and harness will have to be replaced since they are currently out of date. The bladder does not leak but is over 5 years old. The harness is a Simpson cam lock and has a 2007 date.

The motor has been recently gone through with new main, rod and cam bearings and rings. It is stock and has not been bored out.

The T5 is like new. It was purchased new and has been used in only 3 events. It has a mid shift built by Steve Marcus. Shifter was improved with different style of bearings.

The current tires on the car are Kumho ECSTA 255/ 40ZR17. These were the rain tires. No racing tires are available.

I have not made up a spares list. Anything not used with #85 will go.

I will help with delivery in the Southern States.

I am selling #60 because I have been focused on #85 , the Boothman Racing 25 Hour Enduro car, and cannot afford at this time to run two cars. Also we are planning some upgrades for this year’s 25 Hour Enduro and it does need some revitalization after last year’s 25 Hour Enduro.

Thanks and Regards
Ed

This was posted on NASA Racing at 02-15-2012 11:50 AM

Spec E30 / 1987 325is / 117K miles / Columbia SC / $12,000.00 OBO
Up for sale is my Spec E30 race car. Iâ??ve had a blast racing Spec E30 over the past few years. With a new baby at home, racing time is limited.
This car is capable of winning with the right driver as it sits right now. Iâ??ve won 3 Spec E30 races in this car but Iâ??m usually a mid pack driver. Car is ready to race, needs nothing but a new home!
When I bought this car in 2005 it had 112K miles on it and $20K worth of receipts for parts and labor that I will pass along with the car. Way too much to list in this ad but I will highlight the main points below. Most of the money spent went toward maintenance items, getting the car in perfect mechanical shape.
This car has been a dedicated track car since 2004. I built it into a Spec E30 in 2006. I ran one event in 2007, 4 events in 2008, 7 events in 2009, 6 events in 2010 and 2 events in 2011. Since I have owned this car, it has been trailered to and from the track only seeing track miles and has been garaged the whole time Iâ??ve owned it. Car has zero rust anywhere. This is an extremely reliable, safe, fun and competitive race car.

1990 Miata track car with 2000 1.8L motor

Monday, February 13th, 2012

This was posted on NASA Racing at 02-13-2012 06:43 PM

Well, after spending a week at the Bondurant racing school, I’ve got the itch for wheel to wheel racing, and I’m looking to sell my current track car to purchase an already built Spec Miata. Great track toy, but it’s going to take too much money to convert this car to meet the rules for Spec Miata.

I’m looking to get $6,800, fastest way to contact me is smbartl5@gmail.com

The details:

1990 chasis w/ 161k miles – clear/clean title in hand

2000 1.8L motor w/ 73k miles (currently getting installed at Treasure Coast Miata right now)

OEM VLSD

OEM 5 speed trans

hardtop

02 sport brake conversion – Carbotech XP10/8 pads front/rear (1k miles on them) – these things BITE with the 02 sport brakes!

ton of maintenance (all fluids, filters, hoses, belts, timing belt, water pump, radiator, etc)

SPAL twin electric fans, one wired to a 195deg thermoswitch, the A/C fan is wired to a switch in the cabin

P/S and A/C have been deleted – still has a working radio though!

Koni yellow shocks with Flyin Miata springs

adjustable end-links

949Racing 6UL 15×8 wheels with Hankook RS3 (245/45R15) – 80-90% tread

SP engineering tow hooks

custom built 6 point roll cage (1.75 x .120 DOM tubing used – high quality stuff)

Miatacage steering wheel quick release

MOMO D-cut 320mm suede steering wheel

Sparco Evo2 Plus drivers seat w/ Schroth Profi-II ASM 6 point harness (mounted w/ Sparco side mounts)

Sparco Sprint V pass seat w/ RCI 5 point harness mounted to OEM sliders

and a few other things here and there that I am missing….

the car isn’t perfect, the hardtop could use some touch up and TLC; it has a few chips and cracks, and the paint isnt that great (flat black). The rear bumper is a bit rough, but I’ve got a spare that I’ll include. The metal behind the rear finish panel isn’t completely straight – looks like the previous owner got bumped on track. The rear finish panel is spray painted black, as you can probably see in the picture blow. The paint is actually in decent shape everywhere else though. Oh, and the interior isnt professionally painted – I used a can of white rustoleum and a foam roller, but it actually turned out pretty decent.

Heres a video of the car at Sebring:
