Greetings everyone,
Due to reasons beyond my control I need to sell my 1979 930 Euro project. Appologies in advance for the long post but want to give as much information as possible. I have no idea what a fair price is for it so i’ll throw it out there at $20K or best offer, I will also accept offers above $20K
So let’s get straight to it. Below are links to videos and pictures which will give you a good idea of the current state of the vehicle. Please forgive the narration on the videos~

Background:
The car is a 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo Euro model which I purchased a few months ago and began the process of getting it roadworthy again. I purchased the car from a 71 year old retired Air Force officer who was stationed in Germany in the early 80′s and bought the car from a second hand dealership, drove it there for a few years, then had it imported to the US when he came home. I do have release/import paperwork from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as well as a clear Florida title.
The car was in running condition when the previous owner bought one of those “101 things to do to your Porsche” and decided to take the car into a shop here in Georgia for the timing chain tensioner update. Well after several months had gone by with the only thing having been done to the car was that the engine/transmission had been removed, the previous owner had to get the police involved just to get his car back from the shop and apparently also had to fork over like $1200 for “work performed”. I am not sure of exactly when this happened but the car was last tagged in Florida in 2007. The previous owner mentioned he did drive the car here in Georgia but was afraid to drive it because he “lived in the ghetto and was afraid to get jacked”
The previous owner is as genuine a person as i’ve ever met and have no reason to doubt anything he stated about the car, nor have I found anything which would lead me to believe otherwise. The car is all original, I have the original owners manuals, one in German and one in English in the little burgandy pouch ~ Also some (not much) maintenance paperwork and things which documents the mileage~

At approx. 113,086 KM the odometer broke and the previous owner replaced it with a brand new unit which is currently installed in the car and registers about 15 miles~ I can have the original unit repaired for you for about $200~
Current:
Exterior/Body:
The car was definitely a driver and shows lots of wear on the exterior such as rock chips on the front/hood area, as well as the lower rockers in front of the rear wheels. The car could definitely be driven as-is but it really needs some dents and scratches to be repaired and to be repainted to be tip-top again. The paint itself is good from about 10 feet as you get closer then that you can notice some of the oddities. Some areas on the car look like the clear coat is smeared if that makes sense. The doors also look like the clearcoat is foggy except around the edges. So it seems as though the car may have been painted at some point in it’s life, but not very well.
The trim around the windshield also need to be refinished. The wheels are in good shape and appear to be straight, tires are in OK shape but would probably replace them
Interior:
Overall the interior is in very good shape. The only major problem is with the headliner which has a small tear behind the passengers head and another near the rear window. Green leather dash which has some normal wear in the knuckle scrape area. The seats are in good condition with no tears and just normal wear on the drivers side bolster I have not done a leakdown/compression test on the motor and do not have the ability to do so. If you are interested in performing the test and have the appropriate tools you are welcome to do so.
Everything appears to be in unmolested/unmodified bone stock condition and I was simply planning to reinstall the engine after replacing as much as possible from the intake manifold gaskets and up. I pulled everything apart down to the longblock, pressure washed and cleaned everything and reinstalled everything with fresh gaskets. Fuel injectors have been cleaned and flow well but the fuel head plunger is stuck and will need to be rebuilt. I have replaced the throttle bushings, intake manifold gaskets, several oil lines, oil thermostat o-rings, oil cooler seals, oil light switch, seal rings etc. and also have a number of additional new parts including tune up items like spark plugs, fuel filter, oil filter, valve cover gaskets etc.
I was also planning on having the transmission refreshed and have 2 brand new 1st and 2nd gear synchro’s to go with it. The transmission itself spins smoothly, the overall condition is unknown but the previous owner did not mention it having any issues.
I am certain there is more information I could give you so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask or send a PM and I will send you my contact details. Everything is located in Marietta, GA.
