FS: 1988 924S – Street legal Track Car

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

This was posted on Pelican Parts at 04-15-2012 01:40 PM

I have had the car for about 5 years, I purchased it from another POC member. I was planning to race it in GSR but I bought my house and my racing budget dried up. The car was originally set up by Rick White, it has weltmeister sway bars front and rear and a strut tower brace. The rear seats were removed and racing seats were installed up front. It had two wide Corbeau racing seats on sliders when I got it but I have replaced the driver seat with a more supportive Sparco Corsa seat (mfg date Jan ’06) bolted straight to the floor, which has been reinforced. The car has an Autopower role bar and Crow Racing harnesses. The passenger harness is a 5 point and is pretty old. The driver harness is newer and 6 point (mfg date Jun ’09). Both are cam-lock style. The car also has a mounted and hardwired transponder. The only major thing I did to the car was replace the stock struts with a coil-over conversion kit (Koni yellow shock, GSR legal, and 400# 8″ springs) and installed Ground Control camber plates. The car is well sorted and a lot of fun. It will need an alignment though. Front rotors are pretty new, pads are a stock street compound. The car is street legal, it was smogged and re-registered the end of last year. I have a straight, race exhaust for it but the stock exhaust is currently on the car. Other than frequent oil changes, using Brad Penn or Valvoline race oil 20w50, I haven’t done anything to the engine but it pulls strong. Other than the race exhaust I also have 2 extra sets of wheel, so 3 sets total. One set with street tires and the other two with RA-1′s, although both sets are pretty worn. You might be able to get a weekend or two out of one of the sets… I also have a lot of the take off parts, extra street pads and some other things. It all goes with the car.

Like I said, I haven’t used the car much the past 2 years or so and it has been sitting in my garage. I keep saying I will take it back to the track but it hasn’t happened yet. This will be a great car for someone interested in getting into racing and running with the 944 Spec cars. The 1988 924S has the same engine as the 944 but it has the shorter 5th gear which is better on the track. It is also considered a little more aerodynamic since it doesn’t have the wide fender of the 944. This car isn’t perfect, it has some dings and battle scars and rubber marks, but it is a solid car. I am asking $4500 but open to a reasonable offer.

I would be willing to trade for a 911 + cash. I prefer a pre ’74 or an SC or newer. Let me know if you have any questions. The car is in San Diego.

FS:’95 Downing Atlanta Supercharged 318i ($1500)

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 04-04-2012 03:14 PM

I bought this car a little over a year ago as a project, it’s been in various posts on the E36 section. I bought the car with the DASC already installed, it needed a lot of work when I bought it, and now it still needs some, but has been daily driven for the past year. I just bought an E46 and now I have no time to put into this thing, so I’m letting it go. The details are as follows.

1995 BMW 318i
-340k miles with a full drivetrain rebuild at 277k miles (at same time DASC was installed)
-5-speed manual trans with SSK
-I converted the interior to black leather with sports seats but the plastic surrounds on the seats and the bottom portion of the center console are still beige. The PO had started to convert the interior when I bought it, so I continued to do so, those two bits were the only pieces that I couldn’t find.
-Car comes with two sets of wheels, 16" style 42′s and stock alloy bottlecaps
-Has a Vogtland Junior Cup Kit installed less than 10k miles ago
-Has an audio system in the trunk that was tastefully done by the PO, 10" sub molded into the side of the trunk and 2 amps mounted on the back of the back seat
-Has a Compustar alarm system
-Has a rebuilt Limited Slip diff
-New battery 1 year ago

The car came with a full list of the rebuild with the receipts. As I said, I bought this car as a project and I do still think it has a lot of potential. That being said, there are some issues with the car.

-The oil pan gasket has a small leak
-The belt pulley’s need to be replaced
-The shifter bushings are in bad shape, shifting is pretty sloppy
-There is an exhaust leak and the custom cat-back job that the PO did was pretty bad as it was before the leak, I intended to change it the day I bought it, just never sourced an OEM setup and there were other issues that were more important
-There is a small vacuum leak, most likely from the short ram intake (again, never sourced an OEM intake box)
-Driver’s side window clip is broken, window still works fine, just needs guidance at the top
-AC doesn’t work
-Missing a fog light
-PO repainted the car, but he did a pretty bad job, from 10ft the car looks fantastic, but up close you can see the areas that he messed up

I’m sure there’s stuff I’m forgetting in the positive and negative areas, but I’ll post them when I think of them. I would be parting the car out if I had the time too, so my loss is your gain. The supercharger alone is worth my asking price, but I really don’t have time to pull it off so if you want it, you take the car with it.

PM me if you’re interested.

FS: 1971 Porsche 911T Targa

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

This was posted on Pelican Parts at 03-25-2012 09:40 AM

This is an original Midwest car that was delivered new at Kline Giganti in Indianapolis and was very well taken care of with 78,000 original miles all matching numbers with COA from Porsche. Pretty much untouched except for one respray of original Bahia Red paint 8 years ago by PO. Pretty much rust free with all original interior, carpets, seats, gauges (even clock works) trunk carpet. Targa top was redone at some point and is excellent condition. All deep 6 fuchs are original to the car dated 11/70, spare might have been mounted a couple times and tire is an original Veith/Perelli (made in Germany).
Original tool kit, owners manual, Blaupunkt radio (radio also works) and manual all in excellent condition. Car was recently gone through by my mechanic last December and included: Rebuilt pedal assembly, new shifter assembly, rebuilt brake calipers all around, all new fuel lines, too much to list here but I can send copy of paperwork of work completed. Here are some pics, if interested I have more pictures available. Asking $48,000 my direct email is mike@excelgrafx.com

1988 m3 in Florida

This was posted on r3vlimited at 03-20-2012 03:06 PM

Im not 100% sure I want to sell my car but I have placed an add on CL. I am in pretty deep as I traded my M coupe plus cash for this car.

Here is an add the add from when I bought the car http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=230741
I know that the car was listed for less than what I am asking but I have spent a lot of money since I bought it.

The add was not accurate. The ac does not work, there was no new stereo or dtm exhaust. The car is presentable but not mint.

I have replaced the tranny mounts, motor mounts, turner reinforced front subframe, clutch, brake master cylinder and center bearing.

I am asking for $15k or trade for maybe another M coupe, 850, m5, m6,
2002, notch mustang, twin turbo rx7…. Something fun and rear wheel drive. No accords, suv or daily drivers.

I don’t have pics from after I bought it but I should have some in the next few days.

Infanterene@yahoo.com. I’ve seen adds get pretty brutal around here, please take it easy on me.

260z up for trade NJ

Monday, March 12th, 2012

This was posted on r3vlimited at 03-12-2012 07:28 PM

Hey R3vlimited community I have a 1974 Datsun 260z that I would be interested in trading for a 325is or a 318is. I am located In NJ.

Aesthetics:
The car looks great! It is painted Dark Red Metallic, which is a 300zx color. Couple nicks here and there but overall pretty great paint.
Surprisingly little rust for a z car but the passenger side frame rail does call for some attention.
The interior is new. black. It’s pretty sweet.

Drive train:
It has a 5 speed from a 280z i believe (no whine)
Stock R180 open diff in the rear (no whine)
Clutch seems fine, but will probably need to be replaced in the next two years ( I am unsure the condition of it, but it grabs nicely and has given me a single problem.)

Engine:
Factory L26 with 72 Round Top Carburetors instead of the Flat tops.
6-1 Ceramic coated header, which dumping into a full 2" Ansa exhaust
New Distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, mech. fuel pump, and other things I can’t remember.

This is just some general information, but feel free to ask any questions! either post em’, pm me, or email me a KeaE30@yahoo.com

Fs 2009 dmg gtr

Fs 2009 dmg gtr

Year: 2009
Make: Nissan
Model: GT-R
Price: $63000
Mileage: 16150
Color: dmg
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): LA
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: 4WD & AWD

Up for sale is my 2009 GTR. I have different usernames on various forums so I put all the names on the paper. Car currently has just over 16,000 miles. Car has been maintained by my local dealer and I have all paperwork for it. Engine oil has been changed every 3-4 months. Car has been pretty much babied. Engine temps have prob passed the 200 degree mark probably no more than 10 times and the highest temp it has ever reached if I remember correctly is 214 degress. I work less than 5 miles from home so I pretty much never beat down on it. Car has been taken to the 1/4 track twice where I ran 2 passes each times. LC1 was never used on it and car was reflashed to LC2 around 6 months after I bought the car. I used LC2 on each pass at the track and thats it. VDC has never been turn off on this car. Car has never had any relfash of any sort.

-Current mod on the car is a PWJDM midpipe (added just to make the exhaust sound a bit louder) and tinted tail lights.

-Has a matte wrapped roof and above the exhaust( can be removed at request)

-shifter clear coat is peeling- some have sanded it completely off to where it leave the shifter shiny ( small scratch by shifter console too)

-Car was in a wreck just this past December where I was hit by a lady who ran a light. Damage was very minor to rear driver quarter panel where the rim suffered the most damage. Pics included below. No frame damage whatsoever.

-currently have stock wheel on car. Front passenger rim has a rash on it(I have no idea how it happened) but all other wheel are pretty much perfect. Tires still have plenty of thread left on it.

-3 year pos just done where brakes were still in the green. was told have over 65% left on pads

-Car has an extended warranty til December 31, 2015 or 70,000 miles

-18,000 mile service is coming up– I currently have all the stock fluids ready for the change. I can have this service done prior to sale or can give to the buyer to have it done later when 18k miles is reached- dealer quoted me 200 labor to do it.

-Will include valentine 1 mounted to rearview mirror

-asking price $63,000– open to offers

-Any questions. I can be reached at 504-236-3643, call or text pretty much anytime.

-Only reason I am selling is because I barely drive the car anymore. Wife, 2 kids and another one on the way next month will really leave me no time to drive the car. Need a 4 door car.

Your gain is my loss ’90 325is 5 spd 169k in Denver 1800 obo

This was posted on r3vlimited at 03-09-2012 02:57 PM

So, I impulsively bought this for 2600 last week. It ran and drove very well for a couple of days! Seemed like a great car for the price imo. The owner had just sunk over 500 into it to fix a hard cold start, stalling, and bucking issue. He replaced the AFM, coolant temp sensor, and plugs. He told me that it would still hesitate to start when it sat over night sometimes. I wasn’t too worried. Well, the bucking he had previously resolved along with the hard cold start, and stalling has returned. It’s throwing a 1215 for the AFM again. I replaced it along with a good DME, just in case (comes with both spares) Well, didn’t help much and I’m sick of messing with it. I’ve realized I’m getting too old and impatient to toy with these anymore, lol. I just want to see it go to someone who can repair this relatively minor issue (for those more patient that I lol) I’m taking a painful loss, as I originally spent more than I budgeted for, and am running out of funds to keep messing with it. And I’m honestly at my wits end trying to diagnose it. I’d like to recoup some of the money I’ve spent, and put it toward my Audi in Utah.

It will start, run and drive, but I wouldn’t recommend going far, because the bucking is pretty inconsistent and frequent. It’s like driving on a wicked rollercoaster.

I have all the maint records from the previous owner showing what he’s done to fix it. It’s in really good condition cosmetically. Has all the options of an ‘is’ Paint just needs a buff, the clear is good. Interior is pretty clean too. Typical dash cracks, and some minor wear on the seats, but other than that, pretty nice! All electrics work, and has a nice Sony cd player. I also noticed it has a maplight mirror too.

1800 obo for quick sale. Just shoot me an offer or any questions via email or call/text 801-564-5600. I’m in SE Denver. Thanks, Jordan

1997 Hellrot E36 M3 w/ 43k miles!!!!

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 03-03-2012 05:57 AM

Name: Jack
Phone: 832-633-4674 (call or text)
Location: Houston, TX

Year: 1997
Make: BMW
Model: M3
Color: Hellrot Red
Transmission: Manual (5 speed)
Mileage: 43,xxx
Title: Clean (all the vin# stickers are still on the car)

Hey guys I am selling my 1997 Hellrot E36 M3 with 43,xxx miles, for those of you that might remember I have posted this car for sale twice before, once a while back before I sold my S2000 (long story, PM me if you really want to know lol), but the S2000 sold and I decided to keep the M3, and once after I found another S2000 that I wanted but was sold before I could purchase it. However this time I?m pretty sure it?s going to be for real. As I have decided that I want to go back to the S2000, as it is just more ?me?. Don?t get me wrong I love the M3, but something about the S2000 just brings a smile to my face. Anyways I bought the car from Audi/Porsche West Houston on July 18, 2011 as a 1-owner car with 36,8xx on the clock and had planned on keeping it for a while. But I guess we all have a change of heart from time to time right?

The car has a clean title and a clean carfax with all the vin# stickers still on every single panel, however I do remember that there was a mileage discrepancy of like 20 miles or something that was definitely a mistake made by someone way back when the car had like 20,xxx miles with the previous owner. Now, I hope that doesn?t scare the buyer, as I just wanna be honest and tell the buyer upfront as I was told that by one of my potential buyers from before who ran a carfax.

Now of course with every 14-year-old car, you can?t expect perfection, the car does have some normal minor rock chips and scratches, but nothing major. Mechanically speaking the car is 100% as the oil and spark plugs were changed not too long ago, I also replaced the two rear shocks with Bilsteins and HP RSM along with TMS reinforcement plates for security. Cosmetically speaking I have replaced many things such as the rear vent seals, door handle trims, and the headliner was just completely redone so it looks amazing! (It better look amazing as it did cost me around $500 lol) In addition I have also added black kidney grilles, a front lip, changed the hideous ?slats? to a mesh grille and changed the "fake" wood trimmed console to a black one. Also the airbag light is on for some reason (not sure why? could be from age?, but I’ve never had any problems with it) But other than that, the car is pretty much flawless.

Here are some photos of the car from when I first got it

A shot with my old S in the back

As she sits now

PRICE: $16,500 (pretty firm)
TRADES: S2000
