’99 BMW M3 GTS3 Race Car/HPDE

’99 BMW M3 GTS3 Race Car/HPDE

Year: 1999
Make: BMW
Model: M3
Price: $16000
Mileage: 57800
Color: Green
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): PA
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

Due to the lack of time I am selling my M3 racecar. The car has treated me very well over the years and this has become a very difficult decision to make. To give you a little history on the car, this is a 3 owner car. The 2nd owner Scott Linton in Manassas, VA built the car up to race in SCCA T2, but found he was enjoying is other cars too much and decided to sell the M3. I then purchased the car from Scott in the summer of 2005. I did not touch the car for a few years, just drove it during DE days for a few summers. Going into the 2008 season is when the decision was made to build it up a bit further for racing in GTS-3. I did various modifications that you will see listed below. I do apologize that I do not remember which rear is in this car, the previous owner changed that and I am failing to find that information. I cannot speak to all the other modifications that he did that are not obvious, it was nothing to major engine wise, as it was a T2 class car. The car runs strong, with a new suspension you will be able to compete pretty well in GTS-3, suspension was my next step if I was not selling it. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will try my best to answer them for you. I have spares but do not remember everything off hand, and they are not easily accessible for me to do an inventory.

Asking $16,000 OBO-

FS: Ls-1 240sx in va for 12k

Monday, February 6th, 2012

This was posted on NASA Racing at 02-06-2012 12:05 PM

I figured I’d post this up. I have a 1995 240sx SE (The special edition green paint) with 123k miles on the chassis. The ls-1 came from a junk yard with nearly 50k miles (makes 362/345 to the wheels). I’d like $12,000 for it.

Suspension:
Koni Ground control suspension setup for autocross

Brakes:
Wilwood BBK on the front

Wheels:
Enkei RP01′s with 245/40/17 Kumho XS tires

Interior:

Front seats are in amazing condition, for the car having 125K on it.
Carpet is good
Rear seats have the usual cracks on the top from the sun.
I do need a new radio bezel as I broke the old one installing the dakota digital
No radio, but all wiring still remains for it

Exterior
CF hood (have the oe hood as well)
There is a small dent on the drivers rear 1/4 panel from stretching the fender, but thats it

Wiring
Techrods GM harness. Everything is labeled as well. So don’t worry its not some ebay hack harness
All the Nissan wiring that was needed was retained, some of the harnesses were replaced (ABS)

Transmission
Custom mount
T56 that came with the motor (~50k on her)
Pro 5.0 shifter
Voodoo shift knob
New Spec Clutch and TO bearing

PCM
00 Camaro PCM
Tuned by frost (richmond va). It was tuned on the Dyno, 362hp/354tq

Motor:
Sikky Motor mounts
Ls-1 out of a 00 Camaro SS, with 50K
Small cam, I’ll have to lookup the durations.
OEM PS pump, with sikky reducer for the Nissan rack.
All the parts for the A/C were retained, but A/C is not installed. You’ll need custom hard lines because of the ls1
OEM C6z headers (drivers side has a small spacer to clear the steering linkage)
The headers were chopped just after the 02 sensors.
2 small high flow cats were put on right after the 02′s.
Custom 3" exhaust from there to a Y, and its 3.5 all the way back to a Borla Muffler.

This car is titled, and registered here in Va, so you don’t need to worry about that.

FS: BMW E30 1987 325is manual

Monday, February 6th, 2012

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 02-06-2012 02:26 PM

Up for sale is a 1987 BMW E30 325is with manual transmission. I bought the car not long ago and was deciding to keep either this 325is or my 325e. Then I figured out I don?t have enough budget and time to fix it up since I am a student and will work hard for graduation soon. So this car needs to go. If interested please contact by email: tkltian@gmail.com
It’s also on sale on Minneapolis craigslist so may be gone any time.
Asking 1200$. Located in Minneapolis, MN.

Car has high mileage, 235k. It was a Colorado car, has a Colorado license plate and title, and expired tabs. Here are the pros and cons of the car:

Pros:

(1) Limited slip differential. Engine, clutch and transmission are smooth. Clutch was replaced on 2008. Engine starts every time. The PO put the car on storage for one year, put new battery in, and the car starts right up. Healthy engine.

(2) Has firm and good suspension, I believe it?s either the stock ?sports suspension?, or PO put some aftermarket lowered suspension there. The suspension is still very solid and working very well.

(3) Overall the car is in decent condition, only one or two rust spots nothing too bad. Interior shows scratches but no crack. The electric stuff works well, windows, electric sunroof, antenna, on board computer etc. Dash has no crack. All gauges are working well. Decent after market wheels with BMW center emblem. Decent amount of tires left. Power steering works perfect. According to PO, A/C still works.

Cons:

(1) Previous owner hit a raccoon on the highway. The front radiator mount was bent a bit, pushing the radiator backwards a bit and interfered with the engine cooling fan. Now the fan doesn?t turn. I inspected and the main frame is not damaged at all. Thus if you spend some time to pull the radiator mount forward, replace cooling fan clutch, then it should be good again. Now it doesn?t overheat but I assume it has to be repaired for summer driving.

(2) It has engine oil leak somewhere. Looking at the service history it looks like oil pan gasket leak.

(3) It needs a new coolant reservior. The coolant reservior cracked on the main supply outlet hose connection point (see picture). The coolant spill is what makes mess on my garage floor? Other than that the cooling system working fine. New radiator was installed by PO on 2008.

(4) Seems like one of the front bearings is shot. When the car turns left some grinding noise is there. Need brake rotors I think as car sit in storage and rotors got rusty. Car is pulsing when braking hard.

(5) As a high mileage old car, paint is a bit lackluster, scratches and small paint chips on the front and right fender. PO pulled out the aftermarket DVD/CD player to prevent the car from being broken into. It sits on the rear seat, just needs to be put back in.

FS: Delphin Metallic OBDI s52 5-lug e30 (1987 325is) – Marietta, GA

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

This was posted on r3vlimited at 02-03-2012 07:23 PM

Well, it’s time for me to put my e30 up for sale. If you’re in the market for a well-sorted s52 swapped e30, then this is for you… I’ve owned this car for 13 years and have built it up ever since. The car started as a stock 1987 325is, delphin metallic over pearl beige leather. I drove it throughout highschool and college and it’s my current daily driver. In 2002, the car got its first respray. In 2007, I rear-ended someone and damaged the hood and both front fenders.

This prompted a full repaint and the engine/suspension swap. Over the next two years, the car was professionally resprayed OEM Delphin Metallic and my father and I installed the engine. There was no rust on the chassis and the car has been garaged ever since. The engine came out of an automatic ’98 M3 and runs very strong (see Dyno results below). The car is located in Marietta, GA and has a clean North Carolina title.

The following is a list of parts and modifications on the car:

Exterior:

  • BMP RS-I body kit (polyurethane front bumper – no longer available, fiberglass sideskirts, rear bumper, and spoiler)
  • 2-year old paint (2 blemishes… seen in Picasa pictures)
  • Staggered DS-II wheels with 7.5" spare
  • Euro Smiley ellipsoid headlights
  • Shadowline trim around windows (Chrome body trim)
  • Popout rear windows

Interior:

  • OEM black leather sport interior (from 88′ 325is)
  • OEM MTech-II steering wheel
  • New, Old Stock dash… No cracks! 1996 manufactured date
  • Functional Air Conditioning & Heat (with extra A/C compressor)
  • OEM gauge cluster with WORKING trip odometer and odometer
  • ZHP shift knob
  • Map light mirror
  • Kenwood head unit, 6-disc changer & amp in trunk
  • Pioneer 6×9′s

Engine & Driveline:

  • OBDI s52 (’98 auto M3): 234whp/224ft-lb (see Dyno sheet)
  • 540i MAF
  • Lightened flywheel
  • Conforti Chip
  • Getrag 265 with short shifter
  • 3.25 lsd

Suspension & Braking:

  • e36 M3 front struts, calipers
  • Modified 318ti rear suspension (toe and camber adjustment with eccentric bolts)
  • Urethane subframe bushings
  • Stainless Steel brake lines
  • e32 750i 25mm master cylinder with modified e21 booster
  • Lowered ~2” on Bilsteins all around

At any rate, I’m sure there are some things I’ve left out, so send me a PM if you have any additional questions. Again, I’ve owned this car for 13 years now and I do have some maintenance records dating from 1987 to 1996. I bought the car in 1999 and all other maintenance has been performed by me (oil changes every 3000 miles, Mann filters, etc).

Over 100 pictures can be seen on my Picasa account:
