Any E36 M3s near Indiana?

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 04-19-2012 05:48 PM

I doubt I will get a response here because there aren’t any. I’ve checked autotrader, craigs, and here. Is it a bad time of year for used car buying?

I am looking for prices near 8,000.
Must have Vaders and a fresh suspension.

1988 BMW E30 s52 swaped, very clean, new paint

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 04-12-2012 10:17 PM

There is around 170k on the chassis, around 105k on the drivetrain. the black sport leather interior is a pretty decent shape, although there is some wear on the driver door side bolster wear the foam is showing through a bit. Grey carpet, M3 mats, power sunroof, maplight rear-view mirror, 13 button OBC (MPG reads correctly even with swap due to correction module). The driver’s side window motor works, but makes noise. The dash has one crack going right down the middle. it is perfect enough that it could probably just be fixed instead of needing to replace the whole thing. No cruise control, no a/c, The car has ellipsoids, euro grilles, and painted (red) tails.

The car is registered in Alaska, but has never been there. It was just way cheaper and didn’t have to deal with it being bar’d. Took it to the state ref and he said he would pass me no problem, just need to change the cat and it would be good to go.

On to the goodies:

The paint job is only about a year old, it’s a Ferrari gunmetal color. The body is very straight with one little door ding in the drivers side front fender. Didn’t chip the paint though. Rear emblem has been shaved. Also has brand new ppg windshield, no pits.

OBD-I S52 with a TRM tune, ZF320 tranny, 3.25LSD. This car is so freaking fast. the car has been by far the lowest maintenance, most reliable e30 i’ve ever had. It has never ever not started, it’s never left me stranded, and even after sitting for a month in the winter, it fired right up (so the battery is ok…). no electrical issues. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere in the country right now.

JB racing lightweight flywheel with a stage 5 southbend clutch rated to 550hp. serious business. the previous owner was planning on a turbo…

suspension:

E36 M3 5-lug suspension/brakes in the front, 318ti suspension/brakes in the rear.
almost all the bushings (if not all) are polyurethane. about a year and a half ago I installed an H&R coilover kit ($1200). IE camber plates.

setup: e36 m3/318ti
tires: 225/40-16 Toyo T1R’s
suspension: Z3M Coupe H&R Coilovers

the car weighs 2700ish pounds.

aside from oil changes:
injectors
intake boot
front wheel bearings
rotors/pads
custom exhaust – fits perfectly
245/35-16 Toyo T1R tires about 50% left
E38 750i Style 4 wheels
5-lug spare that fits in the spare tire well and is the same diameter as the other tires
ejnight Race Skids skid-plate

The stereo is ok, the deck is pretty nice and it has an ipod hookup.

Please no trades, Price $11.5k Or best offer

Also some interior pictures.
Has M3 black floor mats, just took them out so you can there are not holes in the carpet. http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y22…30%20interior/

1993 Nissan NX2000 Street Prepared

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

This was posted on SCCA Forums at 04-10-2012 1:50 AM

1993 Nissan NX2000 Street Prepared/ Street Rod

$3000 or best offer

You can reach me via this thread, a PM, or at –  j wooldridge 86 at g mail dot com ( no spaces, all undercase)

I have owned the car for nearly 11 years now. The car was purchased all original, and driven as a daily driver and Solo 2 autocross car throughout high school and some of college. The car has been garaged for the past three years and kept in storage while being maintained. The car was built to run in the Street Prepared class and competed well in regional events using only street tires.

The chassis has 155,000 miles on it. The engine is an imported 10:1 Compression SR20DE, with no internal modifications. Estimated less than 50,000 on engine.

The engine swap was completed in 2005 and has been taken care of religiously. Has seen only Mobil 1 since I have run it. Inside the valve cover is nice and pretty as well.  This engine setup put down 155whp-140tq on a dynojet dyno.

The air conditioning was removed as to accommodate the Hotshot Gen 6 header.

The car has dealer installed window tint, and the interior is in pristine condition. No cracked dash, seats in 8/10 condition ( original NX Seats), back seat is impeccable and the car has original NX Floor mats.  A full Eclipse sound system ( head unit, front and rear speakers, and 10″ subwoofer with amplifier) is installed and will come with the car.

In addition to the engine swap, the car has seen extensive front end work ( $2500) in maintaining the front suspension and drivetrain ( Ball joints, Wheel bearings, axles, complete brake system, suspension components). The rear wheel bearings were also replaced. This work was done in 2007. Car has less than 20,000 miles on it after this work was completed. New brakes installed in 2012.

The modifications list in full detail:

Engine/Drivetrain

JDM 10:1 SR20DE with less than 50K

Unorthadox Racing 2 underdrive pulley set ( Crank and Water Pump)

AEM Cold Air Intake main pipe with JWT Pop Charger

Hotshot Gen 6  Stainless Steel Race header with full 3 inch merge collector

VRS Stainless 3 inch cat back exhaust

JUN Chromoly Ultralight flywheel

JWT Hybrid street clutch

Chassis

Energy suspension Master Bushing set

D2 Racing Coil over suspension system with pillow ball mounts front and rear.

( Coil overs were rebuilt in 2007 with upgraded application specific B13 struts, made a great improvement with the uprated springs, which are around 400lb all around, and a spare pair of 600lb springs is included).

Progress Rear Swaybar

The car will be sold as is. PM me for more information, pictures, and arrange to see the car or discuss the car further over phone.  Car will also come with misc spare parts ( 200SX wheels etc) as pictured, pm or call for more info. This car was run with the Southern Indiana Region, and sometimes the Southern Illinois Region would come to our stomping grounds to hold events as well. The car was my daily driver through high school and most of college, and since then has been in storage and maintained.  The car is really in amazing shape considering how rare and common it is for them to rust out. The worst rust on the car is what you see in this thread with the hatch.

WILL TRADE FOR SHIFTER KART OR MAYBE A SPEC 7 OR OTHER DEDICATED RACE TOY OF SIMILAR VALUE

Jimmy.

1990 325i w/ S52 swap in GA

Sunday, April 8th, 2012

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 04-08-2012 07:27 PM

The time has come to let her go.

Car Details:

  • 1990 AW/black 325i Sedan with ~178k on chassis
  • Headliner and door cards dyed black
  • Cold a/c and working heat
  • Clean set of manual Vaders
  • Rear headrest seat with ski pass
  • Personal Steering Wheel
  • Custom leather shift and ebrake boot
  • Tinted Tail Lights
  • 35% legal tint all around
  • JVC head unit with AUX input
  • Euro bumper trim with rear plate filler
  • HID’s in lows/highs/fogs

S52 swap details:

  • German Car Repair built ~128k mile S52 converted to OBD1 with Jim Blair chip
  • Getrag 260 transmission
  • 3.25 rear end with fresh Redline
  • Refreshed head 15k miles ago
  • New Mishimoto radiator with fresh coolant; no cooling issues whatsoever
  • New 75 degree thermostat
  • Performance Muffler’s 2" Magnaflow exhaust, sounds amazing

Suspension/wheels and tires:

  • Ground Control coilovers with Koni Adjustable Sports, spring rates 440/650
  • Ground Control Camber Plates
  • Choice of wheels: either 16×9 Borbet T with 205/45R16 Falken Ziex (pictured) or 16×7.5 Konig Remember with 205/45R16 Falken Azenis 615

Known issues:

  • Cracked paint on both front fenders (pictured)
  • Small crack in dash (pictured)
  • Sunroof inoperable
  • Brakes will be needed soon

Vehicle is clean, but not showroom clean. Other than the aforementioned cracked paint, there are scratches and imperfections to be expected of a 22 year-old car. The best part of the car is the interior and the swap itself. The Vaders really sharpen up the interior and the dyed panels and headliner make the interior pop. The swap was done right and the car runs like a champ, having never let me down or stranded me. The suspension is nice and tight, but not overly so and is definitely DD-friendly. With a few more suspension mods it would perform nicely as an AX’er or dual-purpose DE car. Looking to get $11,000.

Questions? Call Jason at 404.660.0663 or PM me here. Vehicle can be seen via Appointment in Marietta. Also, if you know of anyone looking, please feel free to forward my information to them. Thanks for looking!

FS: 1998 E36 M3 82k Miles Estoril Blue, SF Bay Area, Northern California

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

This was posted on Bimmerforum at 04-04-2012 09:14 PM

Itching for a new car now so here is a rare low mileage E36 M3:

The good:

1. ALL service records since day 1, yes, since 1998, all organized in a folder.
2. Low miles, 81xxx as of 04/04/2012
3. Upgraded Alpine receiver that slides into dash when you lock the car and slides out when you start it.
4. Only aftermarket parts on the car are Bilstein shocks and metal thermostat housing, all stock otherwise
5. Tires and brakes in good condition, just did oil change 03/28/2012, registration paid till 05/2013. Smog done a month ago. No issues good to go.
6. Although there are a few scratches and dings on the body, the paint is in great condition, still shines.
7. All leather seats except for the driver seat are in great like new condition. The driver seat does show some sign of use but still good considering it’s a 14 year old car.

The bad:

The car does have a CLEAR title but I did have a spin-out on a rainy day on a local street back in 2005, car slid into a curb on the driver side. As a result driver side suspension was replaced with genuine BMW replacement parts. You’ll see the receipts of that repair so you know what got replaced. The damage was limited to the suspension and the title is still clear (not salvaged). I used the opportunity to upgrade to Bilsteins.

I don’t really know how to price this but I think it is hard to find an E36 M3 with this kind of low miles nowadays. So let’s start at $12500. I’m in South SF Bay area in Northern California.
